The record book needed a rewrite twice this week — Kyree Henry poured in a season-best 36, Louis Crozier broke his own rebounding mark with 22 boards, and none of it mattered more than this: the Bearcats finally lost.
Mudita Rec 72, Bearcats 68. The upset of the summer. Mudita Rec buried the previously-unbeaten Bearcats under a 46–33 first-half avalanche, then held on for dear life as Kyree Henry erupted for 36 points — a new single-game season record, topping Gage Daye's 35 — with five threes and 8 rebounds. Player of the Game Daryl Banks III answered every run with 28 points and a barrage from deep, and Ibn Savage (11) and Josiah King (10) made the plays late. Jahmir Payoute fought for 12 points and 15 boards in the loss, but Mudita closed it at the line. Bearcats fall to 3-1; Mudita Rec is quietly 2-1.
Flint Tropics 98, Club Passion 78. Tied 46–46 at the break, Flint dropped a 52-point second half and matched the Bearcats' season team-scoring record with 98. Player of the Game Gage Daye stuffed the sheet with 29 points and 14 rebounds while Jaheim Lewis scored a game-high 30 with 10 boards. Club Passion got 19 from Dan Dextraze (5 threes), 18 from Justin Carbone (4 threes), and a 10-assist night from Joseph Capone, but couldn't survive the avalanche.
Misfits 72, Scari McDonalds 59. Player of the Game Ray Zamloot (15 points, three threes, two steals) led a balanced Misfits attack — Alex Grospe added 11 and Jeremy Grospe 10 — that steadily pulled away from a Scari team that got monster games from Larry Smith (24 points, 13 rebounds) and Dwaine Jones (15, three triples). Misfits move to 3-1, right on the leaders' heels.
The Turnover Bakery 76, PTR 51. A 47–27 first half told the story. Player of the Game Will Thompson (16 points, 7 boards) headlined a deep Bakery effort — Isaiah Honis went for 17 and 11, Jaden Honis hit three triples for 13, and Chigozie Anyora chipped in 12. Justin Morton kept firing for PTR with 21 points on six threes, but the Bakery's defense never let it get close.
Troublemakers 79, SheHoop 59. Player of the Game Briana Lee was everywhere — 27 points and 8 rebounds — as the Troublemakers raced to a 42–25 halftime lead and never looked back. Faith Ashby added 15 points, 7 boards and 5 assists, and Rachel Kuhl scored 14. Quorea Pearyer and Justina Cabezas had 14 apiece for SheHoop, still hunting win No. 1.
Prime Time 62, Willy P 45. The division's last unbeaten team is 4-0, and Amanda Carney is the reason why: the Player of the Game hit SIX threes on her way to 23 points with four steals. Erika Jones did the dirty work with 12 points, 9 rebounds and 3 steals. Patty Walsh grabbed 10 boards and Anna Primerano scored 8 for Willy P.
Avengers 63, Ballsohard 55. Player of the Game Terrae Lewis knocked down four threes for 18 points and Katie Hill matched her 18 with 5 assists as the Avengers won their third straight. Mahogany Jenkins was a one-woman wrecking crew for Ballsohard with 21 points and 11 rebounds, and Arianna McCleod added 12, but the Avengers' balance won out.
Lady Lions 67, Lords of the Rim 54. Player of the Game Brooke McFadden (13 points, 11 rebounds) anchored a complete Lady Lions win. Amanda Baylock caught fire early with three triples for 18 and Izzy Augustine added 14. Brooke Baisley's 21-point, 14-rebound double-double and Tessa Lozner's 17 kept the Lords close until the fourth.
New Jersey Buckets 76, 732ers 53. The Buckets are 5-0 and it wasn't close. Player of the Game Sincere Williams scored 19, Kadian Dawkins added 17, and the defense forced turnover after turnover. But the night's history belonged to the other bench: Louis Crozier grabbed 22 rebounds — breaking the league single-game record of 21 he set just seven days earlier — to go with 16 points. Rob Bynes scored 17 for the 732ers.
Team Select 79, Beach Boyz 77. Instant classic. Team Select built a 46–32 halftime lead behind Player of the Game Jared Pearson (24 points) and Daishon Robinson (21), then survived a furious 45-point second-half rally. Brandon Sessoms (23) and Jon Flete (19, four threes) brought Beach Boyz all the way back, and Jamaal Stanton's late triples cut it to two — but Select made just enough free throws to escape.
Fast Break 77, Pro Ballers 53. Tied 32–32 at half, then total demolition: a 45–21 second half. Player of the Game Jordan Summers and Camron Summers scored 26 apiece, Deion Fabian added 17, and Ewens Lizima put up a 13-assist, 10-rebound double-double. Jackson Morrison had 22 and 11 in the loss. Fast Break is 4-1 and the only team within reach of the Buckets.
With the July 4th weekend pause, here's what you missed from Silver's Week 4: Fast Break 61, Beach Boyz 49 (POG Jordan Summers, 19 points and 10 boards) · New Jersey Buckets 85, Team Select 82 (POG Sincere Williams with 26 as the Buckets survived a 46-point second-half rally) · Pro Ballers 82, 732ers 59 (POG Jackson Morrison, 30 points and 12 rebounds, for the Pro Ballers' first win — the same night Crozier grabbed 21 boards to set the record he'd break a week later).
Kyree Henry (Bearcats, Men's Gold) — 36 points, a new season single-game record, with five threes and 8 rebounds in a losing effort that deserved better.
Briana Lee (Troublemakers, Women's) — 27 points and 8 rebounds, and she now leads the division in steals while sitting second in scoring.
Louis Crozier (732ers, Men's Silver) — 22 rebounds, breaking his own week-old league record of 21. Two record nights in eight days.
Through July 15. Per-game averages; 3-pointers are season totals. Minimum 2 games played.
